Partly sunny with moderate temps; Rain chances return tonight

Today will be partly sunny with a high of 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Tonight brings a chance of rain showers after 4 a.m. as lows fall near 40 degrees over cloudy skies.

“Low pressure will move away from the area overnight,” the NWS said. “High pressure sure will briefly track across the region on Monday, but then another low will move east across the area and bring more rain late Monday night through Tuesday.”

On New Year’s Eve, it’ll be rainy all day with heavy wind gusts near 21 mph. Highs will rise near 50 degrees. Overnight, expect additional rain showers with a slight chance of snow. Lows will fall near 33 degrees.

New Year’s Day brings a chance of rain and snow between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. The high of the day will be near 38 degrees.

Overnight, it’ll be mostly cloudy with a low around 25 degrees.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 35 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy overnight with a chance of snow after 1 a.m. The lows will fall near 25 degrees.
