Today will be bitterly cold before snow moves back into the region Friday, resulting in a few more inches of accumulation, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be sunny and cold with highs around 22 degrees.

Clouds will increase overnight, though light winds will make the low temperatures of around four degrees feel more like minus three degrees.

Snow showers are expected to start Friday afternoon and continue through midnight. Southwest Ohio is expected to get 3 to 4 inches of snow. Most areas should see less than 4 inches of snow, but the NWS said it cannot rule out isolated cases of 4 inches.

There will be a lingering chance of show after midnight that will end by morning on Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Watch is scheduled for the region from 11 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday

Motorists should plan for slippery road conditions and possible hazardous road conditions during the evening commute, according to the NWS.

Friday will be a few degrees warmer — but still colder than usual — with highs around 26 degrees. Overnight, temperatures will drop around 21 degrees.

Saturday will be partly sunny with highs around 28 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy night with lows around 12 degrees.

Sunday could see highs hit 32 degrees, but will be mostly cloudy with a few moments of sunshine. A clipper system moving into the region Sunday night and Monday will bring bitterly cold temperatures back mid-week.
