Robin McMacken is an award-winning lifestyles journalist who loves discovering local and upbeat content. She finds boundless joy in sharing positive stories about the people and places in the community.
A native South Dakotan, Robin enjoys exploring fun and fascinating events and places in Ohio and surrounding states. She started her journalism career at the Deadwood Pioneer-Times and then the Rapid City (S.D.) Journal. She’s also written travel books about North Dakota and South Dakota.
The excitement of the space program drew Robin to NASA, where she was the editor of the Dryden X-Press. From there, Robin was a writer and copy editor at the Los Angeles Times’ Special Sections department. Her work there included writing and modeling in “Weddings of Distinction” magazine and previewing Las Vegas performances.
Among the myriad honors Robin has received is the National Media Award, 1993 President’s Council on Employment of People with Disabilities, for a series of stories she wrote for the Rapid City Journal.
