College basketball: Lakota West’s Prohaska part of 1 vs. 2 clash between Notre Dame and Louisville women

Freshman guard Abby Prohaska is part of the University of Notre Dame women’s basketball team that has risen to the No. 1 ranking in this week’s Associated Press national poll.

Prohaska, a Lakota West High School graduate, has played in 14 games and started two for the Fighting Irish, who are 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

She is averaging 1.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 87.5 percent from the foul line.

The Irish have a huge ACC game Thursday night at home against Louisville (14-0, 2-0), the second-ranked team in the AP poll. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised by ESPN.
