Prep state golf: Fenwick’s Utterdyke 22nd, Mid. Christian’s Swartz 45th

Two local players competed at the state golf tournaments over the weekend in central Ohio.

In Division II girls competition at the Ohio State University Gray Course, Fenwick senior Meghan Utterdyke carded a 30-over-par total of 90-80—170 to finish in a tie for 22nd place. Lima Central Catholic took the team title, and Kansas Lakota’s Kyleigh Dull (73-74—147) and Shaker Heights Laurel’s Jami Morris (73-74—147) shared the individual championship.

In the Division III boys event at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, Middletown Christian senior Josh Swartz had a 36-over-par score of 95-85—180, good for 45th place. The Columbus Wellington School was the team champion, while Worthington Christian’s Tyler Jones (75-70—145) was the medalist.
