Lakota East High School’s football team surged into the Division I, Region 4 playoffs Friday night by closing the regular season with a 42-21 triumph over visiting Sycamore.

Jack Dobrozsi (25 carries, 184 yards, two TDs) and quarterback Sean Church (17 carries, 181 yards, two TDs) dominated on the ground for the Thunderhawks, who improved to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Greater Miami Conference.

Church also threw a scoring pass to Evan Yablonsky, and Josh Thornhill added a 60-yard touchdown run. East is expected to begin the postseason at Mason next Friday.

Drew Altemuehle threw for two TDs for Sycamore (6-4, 4-4).

Franklin 31, Oakwood 7: Matt Centers ran for a pair of touchdowns for the host Wildcats, who finished the year with a five-game winning streak.

Gage Johnson and Charlie Webber also had TDs for Franklin, and Cooper Daniels kicked a field goal.

The Wildcats (6-4 overall, 5-1 in the Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division) outscored the Lumberjacks (2-8, 1-5) by a 31-0 margin over the last three quarters.

Middletown 24, Oak Hills 6: Jarrenn Thomas was 16-of-31 for 188 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting Middies halted an eight-game losing streak, finishing 2-8 overall and 1-7 in the GMC.

Shandon Morris caught all three of those TD balls and totaled nine receptions for 149 yards. Josh Bryant ran 21 times for 52 yards, giving him 1,033 yards for the season, and Gene Underhill added two interceptions to the winning effort.

Oak Hills fell to 3-7, 1-7.

Bellbrook 41, Monroe 10: Quienten Brown ran for a touchdown and Braden Singleton kicked a 32-yard field goal for the host Hornets, who finished 2-8 overall and 2-4 in the SWBL Southwestern.

Sedrick Ferguson ran for three TDs for the Golden Eagles (10-0, 6-0), who captured the outright Southwestern championship.

Springboro 45, Lebanon 6: The host Warriors were held to minus-4 yards on the ground and saw their Division I, Region 4 playoff hopes disappear.

Kyle Short completed 17-of-35 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown for Lebanon, which finished 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference National West Division.

Landon Palmer threw for 225 yards and three TDs for the Panthers (5-5, 1-2).

Colerain 49, Lakota West 0: The top-ranked Cardinals went on the road and secured the outright GMC championship, getting two rushing touchdowns apiece from Ivan Pace Jr. and Syncere Jones.

West rushed for minus-9 yards and finished 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the GMC. The Cardinals are 10-0, 8-0.

Milton-Union 40, Carlisle 0: The host Indians finished 0-10 overall and 0-6 in the SWBL Buckeye, while the Bulldogs improved to 6-4, 5-1. No other details were reported.
