COACH OF THE YEAR

Jessie Hubbard, New Miami: The first-time head coach led the Vikings to a 6-5 record, their first Miami Valley Conference championship since 1988 and the second playoff berth in school history (the other came in 2008). The season included the forfeit of a 32-0 victory over Gamble Montessori in Week 1. The 1989 Edgewood graduate was named MVC Gray Division Coach of the Year.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

JuTahn McClain, Fairfield: The 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior running back totaled 2,330 all-purpose yards and 31 touchdowns in 11 games this year. He ran 219 times for 1,754 yards and 25 TDS, caught 24 passes for 416 yards and five scores, and returned six kickoffs for 160 yards and a TD. McClain was named to the Division I All-Ohio first team by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, which also selected him as All-Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year. He was picked for the Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association Division I All-City first team and was the Greater Miami Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Max Evans, Madison: The 6-foot-2, 260-pound senior defensive tackle was a force on the dominant Mohawk defense this season, earning a spot on the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Division V All-Ohio first team. Evans was also selected as Defensive Player of the Year on the OPSWA All-Southwest District squad and on the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division unit. Signed with East Tennessee State University on Friday.
