Prep football: Hilliard Darby is the site for Madison vs. Wheelersburg

Madison High School’s football team will continue its quest for the Division V state championship at Hilliard Darby, facing Wheelersburg for the Region 20 title Saturday at 7 p.m.

The second-seeded Mohawks are 12-0 and lost to Wheelersburg 15-10 in last year’s state semifinals. The top-seeded Pirates are 11-1, having lost to Columbus Hartley 51-20 in Week 2.

Wheelersburg has played at Darby this season, defeating Columbus Watterson 21-0 there in Week 4.

The other three regional-final matchups are as follows: Orrville (10-2) vs. Akron Manchester (9-3) in Region 17, Genoa Area (12-0) vs. Liberty Center (11-1) in Region 18 and Johnstown-Monroe (11-1) vs. Byesville Meadowbrook (9-3) in Region 19.
