Prep football: Fairfield blasts West as McClain continues strong run

JuTahn McClain continued his standout running Friday night as Fairfield High School’s football team roared past visiting Lakota West 37-3 in Greater Miami Conference play at Fairfield Stadium.

McClain rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries for the Indians, who improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the GMC. They are tied with Colerain and Mason for the conference lead.

Raqwon Williams added a scoring run for the winners, and Sawiaha Ellis completed 11-of-16 passes for 212 yards and a 93-yard touchdown to Peyton Brown.

WEEK 4 FOOTBALL COVERAGE

Fairfield won the yardage battle by a whopping 429-56 margin. Brown had two receptions for 106 yards.

Nicklas Hjort kicked a 26-yard field goal and boomed a 77-yard punt for the Firebirds (1-3, 0-2). Isaac Kolosik intercepted a pass and forced a fumble for West.

Next Friday, the Indians will travel to Lakota East and the Firebirds will be at home against Oak Hills.
