Pete Rose’s former teammate, Johnny Bench, said Rose won’t ever be a Hall of Famer.

The beloved former Reds' catcher played with Rose for 12 years, but that didn't give him a biased opinion on Rose when asked by TMZ Sports.

He said his friend has to accept the consequences of gambling, even though he wishes Rose were inducted.

Rose, who holds several MLB records including the most all-time hits, was permanently banned from baseball in 1989 on accusations that he was gambling on games during his career. Despite being faced with heavy evidence, Rose didn’t confirm himself guilty until 2004.

Debate regarding Rose’s Hall of Fame eligibility has consumed the sports world for decades, yet Rose has never gained any momentum towards joining that exclusive club.
