The district is expected to make an official statement at 9 a.m. Thursday, our news partner WCPO-TV in Cincinnati reported Wednesday night.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association fall sports practices begin Saturday.

Middletown City Schools already are planning a fully remote start when classes start on Aug. 17.
