Luke Fickell’s departure from Cincinnati has already cost the Bearcats at least one local recruit.

Badin star Braedyn Moore announced Wednesday he is reopening his recruitment three days after Fickell accepted the position of head coach at Wisconsin.

“We all keep our family in mind to make these decisions and go with what is best,” Moore wrote in a message posted to social media. “All in all, business is business. At the beginning and the end of the day, we’re all human. Everyday is still God’s plan.”

Moore led the GCL Coed with 1,039 receiving yards this season, and he finished one off the league lead with four interceptions.

The 6-2, 190-pounder also ran 25 times for 183 yards as the Rams went 13-1.

He is the No. 11 prospect in the state per 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 16 “athlete” recruit in the country.

Moore’s other offers when he committed to the Bearcats last spring included Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Pitt and West Virginia.

Four others announced de-commitments since Fickell was introduced as Wisconsin’s new head coach, but the UC class still has 14 members as of this writing.

That includes Wayne offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl and Miamisburg tight end Jackson McGohan, both three-star prospects.

McGohan has continued to field offers from Power 5 schools since he committed last winter, and he announced Tuesday he had a new one from LSU, where former Cincinnati assistant coach Mike Denbrock is on Brian Kelly’s staff.
