Kennard recently missed 16 games due to a shoulder injury and is still working his way back. Monday’s game was just his eighth game of the season and his first start since the season opener.
Kennard is averaging 6.8 points per game this season. In his rookie season last year, he averaged 7.6 points in 73 games (nine starts).
A first round pick by the Pistons in 2017, Kennard played two seasons at Duke. At Franklin High School, he was a two-time Ohio Mr. Basketball winner and ranks second in state history with 2,977 career points.
The Pistons (13-12) return to the court Wednesday night at Charlotte.
