Middletown High School seniors Jarrenn Thomas and Shandon Morris made Friday night a memorable head coaching debut for Don Simpson.

Thomas threw five touchdown passes and Morris caught four of them as the Middies blitzed visiting Western Hills 42-0 in a 2018 football season opener at Barnitz Stadium.

Both players tied single-game school records, Thomas for passing TDs (Skylar Jones, 2006) and Morris for receiving scores (Phillip Barnett, 2007).
