Josh Bryant added a touchdown run for Middletown, which led 35-0 at halftime. Thomas’ scoring connections with Morris covered 39, 10, 45 and 23 yards — Au’Braylen Million also had a 12-yard touchdown reception.
• Fenwick 42, Anna 27: The head coaching debut of Dan Haverkamp was also a success as the host Falcons got a big night from running back Jack Fessler, who had 19 carries for 165 yards and three touchdowns.
Sully Janeck completed 8-of-13 passes for 133 yards and two TDs (to Jordan Rucker and R.J. Clesceri), while Colt Bradshaw adding a scoring run.
Fenwick never trailed and had 35-13 advantage through three quarters.
Riley Huelskamp ran the ball 27 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns for Anna. Bart Bixler threw for 137 yards and two TDs to Isaac Lininger.
• Edgewood 49, Monroe 7: Wade Phillips made the most of his touches as the visiting Cougars romped to the victory.
Phillips ran five times for 113 yards and two touchdowns, also scoring on a 91-yard kickoff return and a 55-yard punt return.
Elijah Williams had 11 rushes for 100 yards and a score, Corbin Craft was 2-of-3 for 16 yards and a TD (to Evan Brown) through the air, and Brown returned an interception for a touchdown. Jonathan Testas chipped in a 36-yard field goal for Edgewood.
The Hornets’ lone TD was a 64-yard pass from Nick Osterman to Braden Singleton.
• Talawanda 34, Preble Shawnee 12: The visiting Braves rushed for 340 yards behind quarterback Adam Crank (20 carries, 139 yards, two TDs) and Terell Wills (16 carries, 129 yards, two TDs).
Luke Richardson also had a scoring run for the winners. Crank was 9-of-15 for 81 yards through the air.
Jake Green ran for one score and also threw a touchdown pass to Austin Tutt for the Arrows.
• West Clermont 14, Hamilton 3: Zach Welch's 26-yard field goal in the second quarter gave host Big Blue the lead, but they couldn't hold it.
Keyshawn Stephens (18 carries, 82 yards) and quarterback Khaliyal Sowell (10 carries, 52 yards) led HHS on the ground. Sowell was 4-of-11 for 71 yards through the air.
Ryan Cann paced the Wolves with 174 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
• Lakota East 42, Walnut Hills 7: The host Thunderhawks piled up 278 rushing yards in the victory, led by quarterback Sean Church (12 carries, 119 yards, two TDs), Jack Dobrozsi (17 carries, 73 yards, three TDs) and Donny Wilkinson (three carries, 71 yards, TD).
Avi McGary contributed an interception and eight tackles on defense for East.
• St. Xavier 34, Lakota West 0: The victorious Bombers outgained the Firebirds 321-118 in yardage at Paul Brown Stadium.
West’s David Afari, the Greater Miami Conference’s regular-season rushing champion in 2017, was held to 29 yards on 12 carries.
Wyatt Hudepohl completed 12-of-18 passes for 145 yards and a TD for St. X. He also ran for a score.
• Kings 17, Lebanon 14: Kyle Short completed 12-of-21 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown as the visiting Warriors came up short in the debut of head coach Matt Hopkins.
Nak’emon Williams ran 31 times for 129 yards and a TD for the Knights.
• Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 41, Carlisle 14: Zach Jewell and Talon Borders tallied touchdowns on the ground as the Indians lost on the road.
