A Cincinnati Reds Opening Day tradition is the latest event impacted by attempts to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The Findlay Market Parade's website lists the 2020 version as being "cancelled/postponed," and a spokesperson told our news partner WCPO it will not be rescheduled.

Opening Day is scheduled for March 26 when the Reds play host to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The parade dates to 1920 and is part of many annual events that help ring in the new baseball season in Cincinnati.

News of its cancelation comes after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced he will issue an order banning large gatherings in the state amid fears of the spread of the coronavirus.

As of this writing, the NCAA Tournament is scheduled to begin next week with the First Four in Dayton, but the general public will not be allowed to attend.

OHSAA basketball, ice hockey and wrestling tournaments are operating under similar guidelines, and Ohio State announced Wednesday night it will not hold a spring football game this year.

OSU coaches also will not conduct off-campus recruiting this spring.
