College Football: Miami RedHawks picked to finish second in MAC East

The Miami RedHawks were picked second in the Mid-American Conference East Division on Tuesday in the preseason media poll.

Ohio was a unanimous choice to win the MAC East with 144 points, followed by Miami (107), defending champ Buffalo (100), Kent State (62), Akron (54) and Bowling Green (37).

The RedHawks finished 6-6 overall last season, 6-2 in the MAC East.

Toledo was the top pick in the MAC West with 127 points, followed by Western Michigan (112), defending champ Northern Illinois (103), Eastern Michigan (83), Ball State (43) and Central Michigan (36).

Ohio was the pick to win the MAC Championship Game.

Miami opens the season Aug. 31 at Iowa.
