Oregon District restaurant to close for a week

One of Dayton’s favorite restaurants is taking a little break.

Corner Kitchen, 613 E. Fifth St.in Dayton’s Oregon District, will be closed until Tuesday, Feb. 26, according to its website and information on the restaurant’s voicemail.

The owners are vacationing.

The restaurant's carryout business, CK Take Away, also will be closed until that date.

Corner Kitchen General Manager Natalie Skilliter opened CK Take Away June 22, 2016 with her husband, Corner Kitchen Executive Chef Jack Skilliter.

Jack Skilliter took third place Best Local Chef in Dayton.com’s latest Best of Dayton contest.

The Culinary Institute of America graduate previously served as executive chef at the Dayton Racquet Club.

Corner Kitchen’s Mac and cheese earned it a second place win in the Best of Dayton contest, a people’s choice award.

Dubbed a “finer diner,” Corner Kitchen is a mid-priced restaurant with seasonal American cuisine.

It opened to the public Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
