They want choices, and FigLeaf provides choices, in the form of its own wines that it has been fermenting in small batches for sampling in its tasting room.  And now, the Middletown brewery is entering the wine market on a larger scale with the release of its Blackberry Fizz, a 6%-alcohol blackberry fruit wine that is carbonated like a wine cooler and which is now available in cans.

“We’ve had a lot of success locally with wines and ciders,” FigLeaf co-owner Brian Yavorsky said. “We’re taking note of consumers’ tastes and branching out to target those who are either looking for more choices, or don’t consider beer their number one drink of choice.”

FigLeaf describes its Blackberry Fizz as “light, sweet, fun and refreshing with bold, full-bodied blackberry flavor and effervescent bubbles that tickle the tongue.”

And, they add, it’s ideal for warm weather.
