Day (Olszewski), Barbara Ann "Barb"

Barbara Ann Day, affectionately known as Barb, passed away on January 9, 2025, in Washington Township, Ohio. She was born on July 1, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Henry and Ann Olszewski. Barb's life was marked by a profound dedication to her faith, which she held in the highest esteem as a cherished member of the Catholic community. Barb devoted over 50 years of her career to the University of Dayton, where she made significant contributions, most recently serving as a Budget Coordinator. Earlier in her tenure, she held the position of Assistant to the Dean for the School of Education, exemplifying her commitment to education and support for the university community. Outside of her professional life, Barb was an avid gardener, showcasing her love for nature and creating beauty in her surroundings. She also enjoyed ceramics, allowing her to express her creativity. Most importantly, Barb treasured the time spent with her family, making lasting memories that would be cherished by those she loved. She is survived by her loving children: Dan (Carolyn) Fuchs, Angela (Steve) Clark, and Bernadette (David) Moore. Barb also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Nigel, Skye, Amber, and Christina, along with eight great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Her memory will continue to live on through them. Barb is also survived by her siblings, Carolyn (Joe) Gaccetta, Marilyn Wolff, and Henry P. Olszewski, who will remember her as a beloved sister and confidant. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, TODAY, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 1:00pm, at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1625 Calvary Ave., Dayton.
