Another pizza business is going to replace a pizza restaurant that abruptly closed last year in downtown Middletown.

Don’s Pizza Palace, which has a location in Germantown, is expected to open in the former Blast Furnace Pizza location, 1126 Central Ave., said a representative from Triad Investments, which owns Castell building.

Blast Furnace Pizza closed Dec. 5, 2018, with no warning to its employees or to the building’s owners. It opened Dec. 15, 2017 and was named in honor of AK Steel.

Don’s Pizza, 139 E. Center St. in Germantown, opened in May 1985. It offers pizza, subs and wings, according to its Facebook page. The Germantown location is about eight miles from downtown Middletown.

The restaurant received 4.7 stars out of 5 from 166 people who rated it on its Facebook page.
