Remote learning is a choice for us and we took it. The first week I regretted it but now I’m glad I did this. My kids have teachers doing zoom meetings throughout the day with them they might not be getting the full education but they are doing their best to make this work. The kids complain they miss their friends but they know it’s just temporary. Hang in there it will get better guys it’s just temporary.
My son is in mifflin elementary in madison township. He loves it and i am glad that he has a teacher, a bus driver, lunch time, recess, art, music ect....Things are fine here and glad he can be in school. Online doesnt cut it! May be the choice of some parents but this works for us.
Let me say one thing as a parent who’s child’s school did not do 100 percent remote... my children have been sent home for the 3rd time now going on day 4 of no results from a kid who possibly had Covid and exposed my child... protesting is your choice!! But honestly if you were not remote your kids are being exposed in classrooms where masks are worn so my kids wait for another kid to get a test result!!! Because I have already had them tested on my own paying for each test the other times they have been sent home!!!
So when their kids go back to school and come home with COVID these people will be the first ones complaining that the district didn’t do enough to keep their kids safe.
We just want a choice! We don’t want to remove remote learning... I have 2 kids at talawanda. And we hate remote learning. My 3rd grade daughter cries daily because she doesn’t understand. I was at the protest last night! My daughter asked when we were leaving “mom does this mean we get to go back to school now?” Literally broke my heart. I told her we are doing everything we can to get you back to school. This is emotional messing with our kids and that is not ok!! Our kids are going to be so far behind! It literally makes me sick.
Millions ARE working outside the home full-time. I, for one, never stopped. Besides, unless those parents/students are a shut-in, they are still at risk. All kids should be able to go to school every day IF their parents choose that option.
