Reuben Schwartz, lead organizer for the market, said he is expecting the usual 30 to 32 vendors. Shoppers can expect to find only locally grown fruits and veggies and handmade goods.
“We are a producer-only market and what that means is anything a vendor wants to sell they either have to grow it or make it themselves,” Schwartz said. “Or have their business grow it or make it themselves. So we don’t allow produce vendors to come in after going to a wholesaler house and just go out and sell it.”

Schwartz said they have some pretty unique vendors in the food department, especially those craving sweets. Cooper’s Crepes serves up a large variety crepes, made on site and another vendor has mouth watering torts.
“We have Torta Bakery they are there every other week,” Schwartz said. “The owner of that is an executive pastry chef and she makes the most wonderful torts.”
The same goes for non-food vendors. He said they have three jewelry vendors with unique wire, clay and “rare earth type” jewelry. There is a woman who crochets all manner of hats, scarves as well as stuffed animals.
For the kids there are always activities to keep them occupied and entertained while their parents browse. Scavenger hunts, a chalk zone, kite flying and more. Live music is also a staple of the event that runs through September.
“What we’re trying to do with the market is make it more than just a place to go and get your food and leave,” he said. “We’re making it a place that’s a destination where you can come with the whole family.”
Schwartz said they usually they get 300 to 400 shoppers every weekend.
