A Hamilton man has been charged with murder after an assault that turned deadly over the weekend, according to police.

Brandon Lee Mills, 40, of Parkamo Avenue, was arraigned today for murder in the death of Jeremy Combs on Saturday, according to police documents.

Combs, 41, of Hastings Avenue, was found unresponsive Saturday at a residence on Hampshire Court and was pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to a police report.

“It was an assault that turned deadly,” said Hamilton police Sgt. Brian Robinson in an email.

Mills was booked into the Butler County Jail on Monday afternoon. Bond was set at $500,000 by Hamilton Municipal Court Judge Dan Gattermeyer. He is scheduled to be back in court Aug. 21 for a preliminary hearing.
