A collision involving two vehicles and a utility pole shut down a major intersection in southern Warren County on Friday morning, and it will not be reopening until later this afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon post, a truck pulling a trailer and a car were involved in the crash with one of the vehicles striking a utility pole about 8:50 a.m. today at the intersection of Columbia Road U.S. 22/Ohio 3 (Montgomery Road) in southern Deerfield Twp.

The crash backed up traffic in the area as Deerfield Twp. blocked roads entering the intersection and Warren County Sheriff’s deputies were helping to direct traffic around the adjacent commercial area.

The crash resulted in a downed power line, which required Duke Energy personnel to repair the damage. The highway patrol said the intersection will be closed until about 3 p.m.

The highway patrol said two people were injured and transported to Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Hamilton County.

No other information was available and the crash remains under investigation.
