Two escape raging fire that guts Hamilton home

After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, crews entered the structure to complete putting out the fire and search for a possible victim. An extensive search was completed, and no victim was found. Officials said Saturday the third person was not at the house when the fire broke out.

The man who escaped was transported to the emergency department by a medic unit for unknown injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials said the occupants were able to escape because there was a second exit from the home. The fire on the first floor blocked the normal exit for the occupants. Officials advised residents to make sure that everyone in the home know at least two ways out from every room in case of fire.
