The checkpoint was originally scheduled to run until 1 a.m. but Reising said the traffic died down significantly so they ended it early.
A checkpoint on Ohio 128 in Ross Twp. Friday night netted one drunk driving arrest. That checkpoint was a joint effort of the Ohio State Patrol and the task force.
Lt. Clint Arnold, commander of the Hamilton Post, said these checkpoints are essential for safety.
“State troopers have made 25,226 OVI arrests in the last year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers,” Arnold said. “OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving, but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadways.”
