TriHealth announced in early June it would end its SeniorLink Program — one of only two sites in Ohio for PACE, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly — effective Aug. 31, according to Steve Mombach, vice president of senior services for TriHealth.
At the time, TriHealth officials said about 100 jobs would be lost. The WARN notice detailed 131 affected positions at the facility at 4750 Wesley Ave., Cincinnati.
“However, it is probable that TriHealth will have transfer opportunities available for some employees at other facilities,” reads the WARN notice.
The affected employees were alerted of the closing on June 3.
The decision to end SeniorLink was due to additional requirements from the Ohio Department of Aging in a new two-year contract that were determined to be too costly, Mombach said. He declined to share what additional requirements were deemed too costly.
The program — designed for individuals ages 55 and older who are nursing home eligible under Medicaid — provides long-term and health-related services including adult day health services, transportation and meals, physician care and prescription drugs.
The SeniorLink program serves about 400 adults in Butler, Warren, Hamilton and Clermont counties that will transition to community-based programs.
