7 things to know about Judi Boyko, Butler County’s new top leader

Butler County commissioners on Monday hired Judi Boyko as the county’s new administrator, a position she will start in March.

She is well-known in government circles and in West Chester Twp., where she was the township administrator before taking a position in Hamilton County.

Here are seven things to know about Boyko:

1. While Boyko was at the helm in West Chester, Money Magazine designated the township one of the best 100 places to live six times.

2. She increased the township's general fund carryover 475 percent in six years and reduced government spending there by $3 million annually

3. She has a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.

4. She has lived in Butler County for 16 years and has been in government service 25 years.

5. She married her husband, David, the same year she took over leadership of West Chester.

6. She is an avid reader, runner and animal lover.

7. She says about herself, "I'm not too complex, nothing too secret about myself, and I'd like to think that those who know me and have worked with me know that I'm sincere and I always try to be candid and upfront and transparent."
