Some 300 poll workers are needed in Butler County before November's local-year election, according to the Butler County Board of Elections.

There are 282 precincts in Butler County, and two Republicans and two Democrats need to be at every one.

Areas where poll workers are still needed include:

  • Fairfield (24 Republicans)
  • Middletown (26 Republicans)
  • Oxford (35 Republicans and 21 Democrats)
  • Ross Twp. (14 Democrats)
  • Trenton (22 Democrats)
  • West Chester Twp. (41 Democrats)

Tammy Cuevas, Butler County Board of Elections Community Outreach coordinator, said the goal is to ensure poll workers don’t have to drive more than 15 minutes from their home to their polling location.

Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7, and poll workers must be at the polling location before and after polls close.

Poll workers earn $174 for working Election Day, helping at a brief pre-election setup, and attending a three-hour training session.
