She said parents were notified about the decision Monday night after the Western Ohio Junior Football Conference board met and voted to continue the suspension. Middletown didn’t play Saturday and the games scheduled for Oct. 12 were canceled, Williams said.
Williams said there are no plans to make up the two canceled games.

“I feel for the kids,” she said.
Middletown was suspended indefinitely for numerous reasons, according to parents and team officials. They said Middletown played games out-of-league, players on one of the Middletown teams in kindergarten through sixth grades were not wearing proper protective gear — an infraction that they said was corrected early in the season — and Middletown fans were accused of misbehaving in the stands, but several of them defended their actions as being supportive.

The WOJFC league chairman and Quincy Hightower, president of the Middletown program, didn’t return multiple phone messages seeking comment from the Journal-News.
This the Middletown organization’s first year as a member of the WOJFC.
The WOJFC is comprised of 11 youth football and cheer programs with ties to school districts in Butler, Clinton, Montgomery and Warren counties.
