Why do you want to serve on board of education?

“I represent the conservative spending vote to balance the budget and eliminate the need for future levies in Fairfield. More spending at the expense of taxing people out of their homes is not the answer. In good economic times, the message to all property owners from the school board was, “PAY OR MOVE”. DIVIDING our community by TAKING AWAY BUSSING and SPORTS, and sending parents out to RAISE THEIR OWN TAXES is not the answer.”

What issues do you think should be priorities for the coming years?

“The district needs to stop wasting money on inflexible contracts negotiated to appease a union that has little interest in Fairfield Schools other than how much money can be extracted from it. Retiree’s Social Security checks will have NO COST OF LIVING INCREASE next year but guess whose paychecks do go up? UN-Funded Mandates from Columbus and falling revenue from taxes are just a few of the new problems the next board will be facing.”

What would you bring to the table as an individual school board member?

“Accountability to deal with the looming $8,000,000 deficit without extorting and dividing the community with yet another levy. There are two solutions to the spending madness. Massive cuts including the elimination of bussing and sports and more levies that will further divide the community or the real solution which is to elect Erik Rivera, Arnie Engel and Tony Steer to balance the budget and avoid the need for new levies.”
