For those who are out on the road, motorists need to stay clear of snow plow trucks. However, if there is an accident or damage involving a snow plow, people are asked to request claims by emailing claims@hamilton-oh.gov.
There are several reminders city officials want to communicate to Hamilton residents:
Vehicle parking reminder
Residents are encouraged to move their vehicles off the street, especially in cul-de-sacs. City leaders say this is essential for effective snow storage without obstructing driveways or fire hydrants.
City building closed
The city building at 345 High St. is closed for the day. Essential services remain available, and calls will be forwarded to Hamilton’s answering service, just as they are on other closed-office days.
This also includes the Hamilton Municipal Court. Today’s 8 a.m. docket has been rescheduled for 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13. Today’s 1 p.m. docket has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Butler County Administrative offices and the Common Pleas Court, which are the same building as the Hamilton City Building, are also closed today.
Utility disconnections
Hamilton has suspended its utility disconnections this week due to cold temperatures. Residents can still contact our answering service for assistance.
Rumpke collections
Trash collection will not occur today. Residents are requested to bring their bins back in to aid snow clearing efforts. Trash services will resume Tuesday, operating one day behind schedule through Saturday, Jan. 11. The Rumpke Transfer Station is also closed today.
