On Tuesday, common pleas Judge Michal Sage issued an injunction pulling the plug on the cameras. The judge said the village had failed to give people who challenged the $95 civil citation due process during administrative hearings.
Attorneys for four people, who filed the lawsuit claiming their constitutional rights were violated, estimated the village has collected $1 million in the 15 months the cameras have been installed.
Sage has not yet ruled if the money collected will have to be repaid to the thousands who are now a part of the class action lawsuit.
Village attorneys said they will appeal the decision.
By mid-morning, the prank sign had been removed by a police officer.
