Arrest made in shooting death of Middletown man

Police have arrested a suspect the fatal shooting of man Thursday night in Middletown’s Mayfield neighborhood.

Dylan J. Busam, 25, was arrested at the police station about 1:15 p.m. Friday and charged with murder and aggravated robbery, according to police. He is in the Middletown jail awaiting arraignment in municipal court.

Police say they are not looking for anymore suspects at this time.

Mykael Callahan, 29, was shot multiple times, according to Warren County Coroner Dr. Russell Uptegrove. His death was ruled a homicide.

Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Lacy Court about 7:30 p.m. and found the man on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Gunshots were also heard in the area shortly before police found the man.

The victim was taken to Atrium Medical Center, where he later died.

Two people who called 911 reported hearing multiple gunshots, then seeing a car speed away.

A female caller said she heard six shots in rapid fire and a dark sports car driving away.

A caller from the Lacy Court scene said “somebody shot him and drove off.”

She called the victim “Mike” and said he was not responsive, but they were trying to render aid.

Middletown Sgt. Sam Allen said there was a dispute involving several people outside before the shooting happened.
