A Dayton-based sub shop is poised to open its first Butler County location.

Milano’s Atlantic City Subs applied earlier this month to the state of Ohio for a liquor license at 7701 Voice of America Centre Drive.

When the restaurant opens, it will be the company’s fourth restaurant and the first one to settle in the Greater Cincinnati region. Milano’s owners opened its first shop in 1969 near the University of Dayton and since have expanded to Beavercreek and Miami Twp.

Milano’s serves up calzones, pizza, subs and salads at its current locations.

Milano's applied to operate the establishment at the former Marlin & Ray's, which Ruby Tuesday's Inc. shut down in January.

Company officials have not immediately returned requests for comment.
