Personnel changes at Middletown Police Department

Several personnel changes have been announced in the Middletown Police Department.

Lt. Jim Cunningham and Detective Vincent Lovejoy will be retiring to move on to new career opportunities, according to Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw.

Cunningham, a 28-year veteran of the police department is retiring effective on Nov. 7. His 2016 base annual salary was $91,461.

Lovejoy will retire Dec. 31 after 26 years of service. His 2016 base salary was $67,903.

Also, Officer Raqib Ahmed will be recommended for promotion to sergeant and Sgt. Andy Warrick will be recommended for promotion to lieutenant. Both promotion recommendations will be considered by Middletown City Council in November.

Ahmed’s 2016 base salary was $65,050, and Warrick’s 2016 base salary was $85,615.

The department also has two new patrol officers — Rachael Ward and Ryan Kessler. Ward and Kessler will earn $50,728 annually.

Devon Back has also been hired as a dispatcher and her annual salary will be $33,883.
