Pat Moeller elected to third term as Hamilton mayor

Batista challenged Moeller, arguing Hamilton can do better than it has been.

“The voters spoke,” Moeller said afterward, noting that voters returned council members Tim Naab and Robert Brown to four-year terms. “I think it’s a message that we are headed in the right direction and that we’re working hard, and the citizens are seeing good results.”

Newcomer Michael Ryan took the council seat now occupied by Rob Wile, who chose not to run.

About Ryan’s election, Moeller said, “I think he adds a lot to city council, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Moeller, a lifelong resident and attorney, argued during the campaign that with Hamilton on the rise in recent years, now is not the time to change course.

Moeller said he spoke with Batista earlier in the day, and, “We agreed, whoever wins, whoever loses, we’re going to sit down and talk, and listen to each other. I think he already is a leader in the community, and I’m looking forward to the conversation we’re going to have.”
