One of the survivors of a fatal one-car accident while on his way to prom Friday night said he remembers nothing about the crash.

Mitchell Foster Jr., 18, a senior at Monroe High School, said he was sitting in the front passenger seat of the 2013 Tesla sedan at the time of the accident.

Foster Jr. — who suffered facial fractures, a broken jaw and a broken nose — said he “blacked out” for about two hours and remembers nothing about the crash scene or being extricated from the vehicle.

He is now recuperating at home, his sister said.

“I’m grateful to God that my son is still alive,” his father, Mitchell Foster Sr., told the Journal-News.

The younger Foster told his sister he felt “tired and sadness,” but he was thankful for everyone’s support.

“Don’t take life for granted,” said Foster Jr., who added drivers should never speed regardless of the circumstances.

A 17-year-old Monroe High School student died Monday after a car crash Friday night. Three other students involved in the crash, which happened on their way to the school’s prom, were treated and released from the hospital.

Police have said they believe speed played a factor in the fatal crash that occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday on Millikin Road near Butler Warren Road.

That stretch of Millikin Road, which is hilly, has a posted speed limit of 45 mph.

The crash is still under investigation, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

There were four people in the Tesla at the time of the accident: a driver, front-seat passenger, and two passengers in the back seats.

Kaylie Jackson, 17, a back-seat passenger, was ejected from the car in the accident. She died Monday, according to a statement from Monroe Local Schools.
