An Oxford eatery is making headlines of the most delicious kind.

Tasting Table’s list of the best college town food in every state includes Bagel & Deli Shop, a business that opened in 1975 on High Street less than a half-block from the Miami University campus.

Well known for its steamed bagel sandwiches and subs, the restaurant had, at last count, more than 90 creatively named specialty sandwiches for carnivores and vegetarians alike.

“There’s barely an inch of blank wall space here, thanks to the quirky framed posters that advertise the more than 90 steamed bagel sandwiches,” writes Tasting Table’s Abby Reisner. “One favorite is the Crunch ‘N Munch, a turkey number with smoked cheddar, honey mustard, Parmesan peppercorn ranch dressing and nacho Doritos. There’s also the Messy Katie, with which you’ll get cream cheese, avocado, Colby and honey mustard all over your face, but it’ll be more than worth it.”

Tasting Table is a digital media company focused on food and drink trends in the categories of dining, wine, cocktails, cooking and food travel.

The accolade is at least the second honor this year for the popular dining spot. In April, Bagel & Deli Shop was selected as one of the best Bagel Shops in Ohio at the website Best Things Ohio.
