A pair of sobriety checkpoints in Butler County last weekend yielded one OVI arrest.

The Butler County OVI Task Force conducted OVI checkpoints in Oxford on Friday and in Fairfield on Saturday.

Pete Reising, OVI task force coordinator, said 300 cars were checked at the Oxford OVI checkpoint between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of South Locust Street.

He said nine vehicles were diverted for further investigation at the checkpoint. However there were no arrests or citations issued by task force officers.

On April 27, the task force conducted a checkpoint at Pleasant Avenue and Symmes Road between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Reising said 131 vehicles were checked with two vehicles being diverted for further investigation with one OVI arrest being made.

Both checkpoints were held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols.
