OVI checkpoint tonight in Butler County

The Butler County OVI Task Force will be looking for impaired drivers in Hamilton tonight.

An OVI checkpoint will be set up from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Ohio 4 at Hanover Street in Hamilton.

Ohio law requires that law enforcement announce the times and locations of sobriety checkpoints in advance.

“The checkpoints, along with saturation patrols, are our continuing effort to reduce OVI related crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities,” OVI Task Force coordinator Pete Reising said.

In 2018, there were 13,335 OVI-related crashes in which 394 people were killed and 7,799 people were injured in Ohio.
