Driver taken to hospital after truck goes airborne, crashes into tree in Franklin Twp.

The driver of a truck that left the road and struck a tree was transported to a local hospital after a crash today in Franklin Twp.

Witnesses said the red pickup truck abruptly swerved to the right, went over a culvert, went airborne and struck the tree. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and his head struck the windshield, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The truck was traveling an estimated 60 mph.

The driver’s injuries are unknown, according to the state patrol.

Crews are working to extricate a person from a one-vehicle crash in Franklin Twp.

The crash was reported before 11 a.m. on Ohio 123 near Robinson-Vail Road where a vehicle crashed into a tree. The vehicle sustained heavy damage according to initial reports.
