One dead in early Tuesday morning shooting in Hamilton

Hamilton police are investigating a Tuesday shooting that left one person dead.

At around 5:45 a.m., police officers were called out to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Clovernook Drive. There had been an altercation involving two adults that resulted in one of them being shot and killed.

Hamilton police spokesman Sgt. Brian Ungerbuehler said they are not actively looking for any other suspects.

He said detectives are talking to the other person involved, but no charges have been levied at this time. Charges will also be dependent on a conversation with the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office. Investigators have not said what caused the altercation that resulted in one person’s death.

“It’s still very early,” Ungerbuehler said of the investigation.

The name of the victim and the person in custody are not being released at this time.
