Middletown firefighters are investigating what caused a fire at a Middletown recycling center Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. at Cobalt, 3110 S. Verity Parkway, an electronics recycling center that is owned by Cohen USA, according to Middletown Fire Chief Paul Lolli.

He said a shredding machine caught fire and took firefighters about an hour to put out.

Lolli said no injuries were reported at the fire, to which three engines, a ladder truck and a medic unit responded.
