One of the new restaurants opening this year at the mega Liberty Center retail complex in Butler County is now hiring ahead of a spring opening of its first Cincinnati-area restaurant.
Northstar Café is conducting open interviews ahead of its Cincinnati market debut and has about 90 job openings, including positions in service, culinary and management, said Matt LaGrow, senior managing partner for the restaurant.
Job seekers can get more information and apply online at www.TheCafeisComing.com. They can also meet the restaurant's management team and apply in person between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays on the second level of the Foundry building, the enclosed mall at Liberty Center, located at 7100 Foundry Row. Northstar Café is interviewing candidates in Suite 290 next to the Old Navy store.
“For any new partner who’s joining us at this time it’s really exciting because the growth opportunities are there,” LaGrow said.
The restaurant’s three Columbus-area locations are known for weekend brunch and a homemade menu with bakery items, egg dishes and other breakfast fare. It’s most popular times are breakfast and lunch, but Northstar also has a dinner menu featuring thin crust pizzas, sandwiches and bowls, LaGrow said.
Brunch includes the entire breakfast menu along with a few items off the lunch menu. Bloody Marys and Mimosas are also served during brunch that aren’t offered the rest of the week, he said.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, plus breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays; and brunch served 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
“Northstar’s committed to using artisanal ingredients,” he said. “All of our kitchens are wide open, built into the dining room.”
Founded in 2004, Northstar Cafe will open at Liberty Center near the intersection of Foundry Row and Sloan Way, which will be the growing chain’s fourth restaurant, he said.
Other dining spots expected to join Northstar and open this year at Liberty Center include Cantina Laredo and Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, according to the project's developer.
The approximately $350 million Liberty Center development first opened in October at the intersection of Ohio 129, Liberty Way and Interstate 75. Anchor tenants include department store Dillard's, the Tristate's largest Dick's Sporting Goods store and movie theaters CineBistro and Cobb Liberty Luxury 15.
