A full-service hair salon that specializes in coloring and the hand-painted hair trend is set to open in West Chester Twp.

The Mane Hair Co. is shooting for a soft opening on Dec. 29 at 7334 Tylers Corner Drive and a grand opening is set for Jan. 1, according to owner Lauren Lewis Doerr.

It offer everything from haircuts, perms, hair coloring, to chemical straightening services, conditioning treatments and scalp massages.

“We have some of the best colorists in the area that really deserve some credit,” Doerr said. “There are 12 of us. We’re coming from another salon in town and needed a new start, a rebranding for a new year. I have a great staff.”

Doerr, who was born and raised in West Chester Twp., said she and many of her Mane Hair Co. stylists have deep roots in the community.

“We love the people and love the town so it was important to me to stay rooted,” she said. “We’re moving into an suite that is already a salon … and the fact that’s it a turn key in a beautiful building is huge for us. It helped us out a lot.”

Mane Hair Co. took over the lease for Tangi's Salon, whose owner, Marcie Tangi moved to the Salons at Snider Crossing in Deerfield Twp., Doerr said.

The salon’s location off Tylers Place Boulevard is appealing because it’s “a destination location” sandwiched between Liberty Way to the north and Tylersville Road to the south, she said.
