CLOSER LOOK: Health systems make Butler County their new home
Area hospitals earning an “A” grade for their commitment to keeping patients safe and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States include:
- Kettering Health's Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton
- Mercy Health-Fairfield Hospital in Fairfield
- Premier Health's Atrium Medical Center in Middletown
- TriHealth's Bethesda Butler Hospital in Hamilton
- TriHealth's McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford
- UC Health's West Chester Hospital in West Chester Twp.
Also making “A” grades in Southwest Ohio were TriHealth’s Bethesda North, plus Mercy Health’s Anderson Hospital, Clermont Hospital, Fairfield Hospital, West Hospital and The Jewish Hospital.

TriHealth’s Good Samaritan Hospital earned a “B” and UC Health - University of Cincinnati Medical Center earned a “C” grade.
Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year and it awards fewer than 850 “A” grades.

Grades are calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public via www.hospitalsafetygrade.org.
