Questions continue to surround a fatal home invasion shooting in which an 18-year-old Miamisburg High School senior was killed in a case police say they are highly-focused on, but saying little about.

Police records list an assault rifle and “several handguns” found near the site where Noah Kinser was gunned down in Sunday night’s targeted attack at 119 N. First St., a block away from the Miamisburg Police Department.

It is unclear whether Kinser was the intended target or if he lived at the address.

Police “have been investigating” the killing of Kinser “non-stop and are still in the middle” of looking into issues involving the homicide, Miamisburg Detective Sgt. Jeff Muncy said in an email Wednesday.

Muncy on Monday described the shooting as a targeted home invasion. Kinser died of a gunshot wound to the chest, and his death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Muncy declined Wednesday to address to a variety of questions about the investigation, including any information on possible suspects in the case.

Both police and coroner records indicate a different address for Kinser’s residence.

Miamisburg records indicate “two young males” fled the scene in a dark sedan near Pearl Street after neighbors reported hearing seven gunshots shortly before 10 p.m.

“Suspects were last seen running (south) in alley behind house towards Ferry” Street, police records indicate.

Those same records state “AK 47 in the room” and “several handguns in the room,” but do not indicate where they were found or who owned them.

Kinser was inside an apartment at the address when two armed individuals entered to commit a robbery, police have said.

Once inside the apartment, the suspects opened fire, killing Kinser and hospitalizing a second victim, whose condition is unknown. The assailants fled in the car, police said.

Muncy said Monday the other victim is a juvenile but did not provide additional information.

Kinser was a senior at Miamisburg High School, Superintendent David Vail has said. Vail said grief counselors would be available at the high school when students return on Jan. 7.
