Nanak India plans to open in late April at 7741 Tylers Place Blvd. following renovations to the location that formerly was Tap & Barrel Tavern.

The owners of the new restaurant are Ajay Kumar and Ravi Singh. Kumar, who has 15 years of experience cooking Indian food, said he will be creating “a very different but very authentic” array of items for the menu that will include dishes not typically served at other Indian restaurants in Ohio.

Nanak India will feature “Western Fusion with an Indian touch” for everything from gyro and burgers to pizza, chicken wings and pork tips.

The new restaurant’s motto? “Pure & Healthy,” Kumar said, noting it will be “very different form any present Indian restaurant” because it will have a large bar, pool table, dart boards and chess tables.

Nanak India also will have an area where young children can play or draw on a blackboard.

The new restaurant plans to hire eight people, five for the front of the house and three for the kitchen, Kumar said.
