Cars were damaged on Victoria Drive, Arlington Avenue, Stadia Drive, Bryant Avenue, High Street, Boys Avenue, Larry Drive, Harpwood Drive, Main Street, Gribble Drive and River Street, he said.
A four-door sedan was caught on a residential security camera driving slowly with a passenger appearing to use an object to smash the side rear-view mirrors on cars and vans, according to police.
One resident, Brenda Sorrell of Stadia Lane, said she was asleep when police came to her door about 7 a.m. and told her brother that her car had been damaged.
She has re-secured the mirror with duct tape for the time being.
“We’ve never had a problem with anything like this in at least 20 years,” she said.
The vandals could face misdemeanor charges, Whitman said, but some could be felony charges because business vehicles were among those damaged.
In Carlisle, Police Chief Michael Bruck said there were reports of three vehicles damaged in a similar way during the same time frame.
Police in both communities are continuing their investigation.
Whitman encourages anyone with any information to call police at 513-746-2882.
